March is a very busy month for me at work, I have some serious deadlines at the end of the month at work (the government wants what they want when they say and not a day later) and with all the time off I had last year, its put me slightly behind where I'd like to be…so stitching time is limited as well.
I've not really done a lot of stitching, mostly it's limited to the weekends, as I'm just too tired when I get home from work.
I joined the Crazy Challenge for 2015 along with the ultimate crazy challenge (which I totally wimped out on). On my list I knew I had 2 designs that were over one, the rest of my charts were 'normal' over two designs, or so I thought. Well imagine my surprise when 2 of them incorporated over one in their design :(
It's a good thing that I really do LOVE how over one looks and under good light and a magnifier I can actually see to stitch. Here are my two surprises. The alphabet (St. Ives by Indigo Rose) I started in January, the black work around the edge is boring to do so thought I'd work on the first band, which is the alphabet over one. The other one is a SB Angel's Song - I started it last year, since the last time I show it I finished the wings of the angel the 2nd and 3rd band and started the words. I love doing the bands, they are fun and I can do one and feel like I've accomplished something.
Since the last full moon I also pulled back out my two Nora Corbett Mermaid letters D and A. The A was a lot easier to stitch than the D has been. So I feel like I've gotten more done on her than the D, but I really love the colors and the script look of the D and can't wait to get more of it done. Both of these should be easy to finish if I just get my needle in gear.
I also started the American Quilt Flag by Rosewood Manor, but I've not gotten enough done to really show, other than the start I posted a while back.
And last I did manage to get a little more done on my Lizzy Kate, I had a seminar in Kansas City MO in February. When I looked at flights, it was less expensive to fly out on the weekend and stay an extra night than to fly out on Monday. So I had some quality hotel time and put it to good use (between working on my laptop).
For the full moon the question was if we had unlimited time and money, what would be on my bucket list to do.
For the time, I'd have to say Flower Power by Cross Wings. I've seen this one stitched and I've loved it since the first time I spied it, and then re-fell in love with it when a lady in my stitching group did it in 3 panels. I have the chart, so just need the time. And if I have time for that one, I'd also add The 5th Day, which I also have the chart.
As for unlimited money, well, below is my picks
The first one is a canvas that I've been eyeing for over a year now. I'm a real fan of Where the Wild Things Are, and have read it to all of my kids, and my grandkids. Love that book and when I saw this canvas I knew that one day I'd need to own it. But alas at the price it's not happened to date. I would want a stitch guide and of course there is the price of the threads, I would want lots of silks and sparkly threads. I've priced it out and just waiting on my power ball numbers to be drawn :)
My next item on my bucket list is The Queen - I just love her and would really love to get and stitch her as well, but as you can see she is even a little bit more pricey than Friendship. So she will undoubtedly remain on my wish list, but could you see her finished into a pillow?
Well until the next full moon, I hope you all get lots done cause I'm going to be looking for your updates.
