Why do stitchers always pack so much when they travel, only to pick up something new to work on?

My husband and I went to Boulder CO for Thanksgiving with my family and then hubby went up to Ft. Collins to spend some time with his aunt while I hung out with my sister.  We had a wonderful time.  I took my Tooth pillow needlepoint, 2 SB designs and my painted pony Princess to work on.  I actually did pick up one of the SB to work on, but didn't get a lot done.

Instead of working on my stitching projects that I had packed, I ended up going to Shuttles & Spindles in Boulder and got some new yarn and started a new pair of socks and a child's sweater.

The sock is a wonderful variegated yarn, purples, reds and blues.  I'm not much further than what this picture shows and the picture doesn't show the colors well.  Maybe the next picture will look better.

The child's sweater has more done than this picture shows.  I really love how it's turning out and will be simple enough to finish.  Not sure if it will actually be for a child or if I'll put it on a teddy bear instead.  Well see how it looks.

The last yarn I got I've not started yet, it will be for socks as well.   I might get  adventurous with it and look at my sock book to find something fun to do and challenging.

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!!

Sandy
