Stitching in Sunny Cal's 10th Full Moon

Wow, October is already here, my greatest fear of Christmas sneaking up on me will soon be realized.  I need to get over my procrastination.  I have 2 projects that just need to be beaded and 3 projects that need to be framed (besides the 2 that need to be beaded) and 2 stockings that I need to finished into Christmas stockings. L  My goal for November’s update is to have all of these projects done!!

So what is the question for this full moon?

October 27 – Topic:  Are there any fibers or materials used in stitching that you’re nervous to try?

There has been a few that I’ve hesitated on using – one of them being suede- I used it on my SpiritDancer – which was the large project I finished last year for my grandson.  I dread using it on my current project EarthDancer – which I’m doing for my youngest child.    I love using silks and never pass up an opportunity to incorporate them into my stitching.

So what have I accomplished since the last full moon?  Well didn’t get the beading done on my August Fairy – it still sits waiting for attention.  I did get my Nine Lives completed

and the stitching on my Nora Corbett’s Mermaid Letter D done – it now needs beading, boy those beads sure are tripping me up lately.
Didn’t attach the charms on my SB stocking YET either, but I did find them at a shop and brought them home along with some other goodies. (see my prior post)

So here are my goals for the next full moon:
·      Bead August Peridot Fairy
·      Bead Letter D Mermaid
·      Attach charms to SB’s Tina Stock for Olivia
·      Sew SB’s stockings into stockings (2 to complete)
·      Sew up at least 30 pillow cases for Christmas presents

I need a work at home day from work, but know it’s not going to happen.

See you after the moon has finished tripping around the earth….may your thread reach to the last stitch and the frog reside in someone else’s pond.

  1. Great post good luck on your goals! I know everyone loves stitching with silks but I haven't tried them yet. Someday!

  2. Great seeing your works they are beautiful. I do not envy you all those beads. I do not care for them in my stitching. Whenever a pattern asks for beads I change them to metallic thread.

  3. I have not tried the suedes, but I do have them in my stash to stitch on one of those Dancers by L & L. Can't remember which one I have. Hubby picked it out years ago. I love trying new things in my stitching, especially fibers and beads. They just add so much. Your Nine Lives is a cute stitch and I am loving your "D" mermaid. Good luck with all of your projects.
