The Moon should be beautifully full tonight….

So here were are at another full moon and this time I think I'm ready for it, well at least I did manage to do some stitching.  I'm always amazed at the progress of others and I strive to achieve the same levels, but just never seem to get around to doing as much stitching as I'd like or know I should….

August 10 – Topic:  Tell us about your oldest and newest WIPs.

My newest WIP is another Stocking by Shepherds Bush called Jillian’s Stocking.  It's not technically a WIP yet, but will be in another month.  It will be for my nephew’s first baby, who will put in her appearance around Christmas.   They are still deciding on names - right now there are 4 names that they like and are considering all of them!!  I might need two lines to get them all on - love Grace and Pearl :)  could live with Wanda too, but the last one..well it would need to grow on me…Everett, which sounds like a little boy, not a girl.

Now if you were looking at truly WIP, i.e. projects that I have in my footstool or on my floor stand that I’m actually working on periodically this year, it would have to be my Ice Angel.  I started it about 10 or so years ago.  It’s for my oldest daughter and I changed all the blues to purples.  While I love the angel, I really don’t like using the rayon threads, but I’m at that point of no return.  If you’ve been reading my blog than you know that I’m struggling with working on it and haven’t been able to find a solution to my quandary with the thread.   I think it's a little bit more done, but this was my last picture.

If you are looking at the oldest project that is started but not finished – or my UFO’s, then it would be my owls, they were started in 1973 or 74.  I got a kit and started it with the idea that I would finish it for a gift for my Mom.  Can’t remember if it was for that first Christmas (1973) or my Mom’s birthday in March 1974, but either way, it is my oldest UFO.  Will I finish it?   Yes one day, I think it will look neat being framed as a retro needlepoint – cheap kit of course, but it has some good memories just the same.  Really need to take out the back ground that I started, I've learned SOOOOO much since then.

Now for my update of what I've been working on :)

Here is where I was last full moon.  I've got to get this done so I can start on the next one.  But I've run out of thread on the dress :(  I will need to get more, but there isn't any place around here that carried it, so may need to do a trip to San Diego next weekend to pick up more :)  Also need to get 2 more skeins for the new stocking…..and maybe a little something-something for me :)

I've also pulled back out my August Fairy, I joined a FaceBook group called Mira-Mira where they are working on - you guest it Mirabilia designs.  I have this one started and about 10 others that I really would like to get started, including her Queens!!  Not a lot of progress, but enough to make me happy.  Next up with be Sleeping Princesses and one of her new witches…they are winging their way to me, can't wait to get them.

Can't wait to see what you've all done.  I need inspiration and find it will all my x-stitching cyber friends.

Sandy
